IGuiding Clients Through A Variety Of Stretches To Increase Range Of Motion Of The Spine, Hips, and Pelvis
Instructor: Matt Jones, MT, DC – NCBTMB Approved CE Provider
Over time, our bodies adapt to the demands – or lack thereof – we place on them and changes in flexibility occur, often in subtle ways. During these slow changes, we often aren’t aware of this loss of flexibility until it interferes with daily activities.
Adding relevant stretches alongside bodywork can greatly improve client outcomes and provide longer lasting results, a combination that enhances our effectiveness as massage therapists. Many of the stretches demonstrated in this class can be modified into active forms to engage clients even more.
Topics addressed in this course include:
- How to safely provide passive lower body stretching options to clients when indicated.
- Discussion of possible contraindications to assisted stretching.
- Connecting anatomical knowledge in practical applications.
- Utilizing appropriate body mechanics for effective use of each passive stretch.
At the completion of this 4 hour course, you will feel confident in your abilities to provide assisted stretching to your clients. For anyone seeking to incorporate new ideas into their massage treatments, this course will provide!
